01
Known outage updates
Callers in an affected area hear the outage status and restore estimate from your status source, and their report is logged against the incident.
02
Install reschedules
A customer who cannot make tomorrow's install window moves it on the call, which frees the original slot for your dispatch team to fill.
03
Evening shoppers
People comparing plans after dinner reach someone who can check their address, explain the plans it qualifies for and take the order.
04
Moving service
Customers moving house set a disconnect date at the old address and an install at the new one, once the new address checks out as serviceable.

Night calls at a telecom provider are outages, moves and buyers
When a node goes down at midnight, every customer on it calls within minutes of each other, and the overnight crew is usually a skeleton team or an answering service reading from a card. Callers wait, hang up, call again and post about it. Most of them want two things: confirmation that you know, and a rough idea of when service will be back. Your NOC already has that information. It just has no way to get it from the status board to every caller at once.
The rest of the overnight and weekend volume is quieter but valuable. A customer realizes at 10pm that nobody will be home for tomorrow's install. A family closing on a house wants service set up at the new address. Plenty of broadband shopping happens in the evening too, when people sit down to compare plans and want one question answered before ordering. A voicemail box or a message-taking service turns each of these into a callback the next day, and some of those callers never pick up.
What the agent does on a 2am call to your care line
Harmony.ai answers on the first ring in your brand and works out why the person is calling. For a service problem, it asks for the service address, checks your status source for a known outage in that area, and if there is one, gives the status and restore estimate your NOC has posted. The report is logged against the incident. If no outage is listed, it runs your basic troubleshooting script and opens a ticket with the symptoms, so the morning team starts with facts instead of a voicemail.
Install reschedules and moves are handled end to end: the agent reads open windows from your scheduling system and books the new one. Evening shoppers get an address check, the plans that address qualifies for, and an order on the call or a booked callback with a sales rep. Anything touching account details, like a bill question or a plan change, waits until the caller passes your authentication steps. Whether a problem justifies an overnight truck roll stays with your NOC and dispatch rules, and the agent pages or transfers when those rules say so.
The overnight record your NOC and morning shift open
By the time your day team logs in, each after-hours call is already a record: outage reports tagged with service address and incident, trouble tickets with symptoms and the troubleshooting steps tried, reschedules with old and new install windows, move requests with both addresses and dates, evening orders or sales callbacks, and any escalation sent to on-call staff, each with transcript and recording. Harmony.ai writes these into your ticketing system, BSS/OSS and CRM through their APIs; there is no connector menu to pick from, we build what your setup needs.
Authentication and plan sales after hours
Confirming that an outage is known in a caller's area does not require account data, so the agent can do it for anyone. Questions about a specific account are different: carriers must authenticate a customer before disclosing CPNI on a customer-initiated call, and may share call detail information by phone only under the conditions the rule sets. The agent runs your authentication steps first and routes anything outside them to your team.
An evening order taken by phone falls under the broadband label rule, which treats telephone sales as a point of sale. Before the buyer agrees, the agent tells them where to read the label for that plan. Your compliance team writes these rules into the agent's flow, and the recording and transcript of each call stay available for audit. This is not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions
Yes, if your status page or NOC tooling exposes outages by area through an API or feed. The agent matches the caller's address to an active incident, reads the status and restore estimate your team posted, and logs the report. It does not guess at causes or promise times your NOC has not published.
Your NOC and dispatch rules do. The agent collects symptoms, runs the troubleshooting steps you approve and opens the ticket. When a call meets your escalation criteria it pages or warm-transfers to the on-call person, and everything else waits for the morning queue with full notes.
Only after the caller passes the authentication steps you set for CPNI. Until then it sticks to things that disclose nothing from the account, like confirming a known outage in the area or answering questions about new service. Each of those calls is recorded and transcribed for your team.
Yes. You can forward your care and sales lines after hours or send overflow to the agent, and callers keep dialing the number they know. We build the integrations to your telephony, scheduling, ticketing and BSS/OSS through their APIs, so reschedules and tickets land where your teams already work.
