Not legal advice. This checks the federal TCPA window (8:00 AM to 9:00 PM in the called person's time zone) and the state hour rules listed on this page, as of October 13, 2026. Calling hours in Alabama

Alabama allows telephone solicitations Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with no calls on Sunday, in the recipient's local time (Ala. Admin. Code r. 770-X-5-.17(1)(b), (2)(b)). Applies to live and automated sales calls to consumers in Alabama.

The federal TCPA window of 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM (47 CFR 64.1200(c)(1)) still applies on top of the state rule. Where the two differ, the stricter one wins.

Time zones and area codes in Alabama

Alabama is on Central time, so the hours above are Central time.

Alabama has 7 area codes: 205, 251, 256, 334, 483, 659 and 938. Enter one in the checker above to see the hours for that number.

Holiday calls in Alabama

No solicitation calls on holidays. The checker blocks calls on federal holidays and on the state holidays in Code of Alabama 1975, 1-3-8: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s and Robert E. Lee's birthday, George Washington's and Thomas Jefferson's birthday, Confederate Memorial Day, National Memorial Day, Jefferson Davis' birthday, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Fraternal Day and American Indian Heritage Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Mardi Gras (Mobile and Baldwin counties) applies only in part of the state or part of the day, so on that day the checker tells you to check the holiday calendar instead of giving a plain yes. The Governor can also designate holidays.

What else applies

Calling hours are one rule among several. Consent for autodialed and AI or prerecorded voice calls, the National Do Not Call Registry and debt collection rules apply to Alabama calls separately. Mobile numbers can move with their owner, so the area code is a best guess at location. This is not legal advice; check with counsel before you change a calling program.

To compare Alabama with other states, see TCPA calling hours by state. For how these rules apply to AI calls, read What is TCPA compliance for AI calls?
