Calling hours in Alaska
Alaska has no calling-hours law stricter than federal rules, so the federal TCPA window applies: telephone solicitations only between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM in the recipient's local time (47 CFR 64.1200(c)(1)). The FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule sets the same window, and Regulation F applies it to debt collection calls.
Time zones and area codes in Alaska
Alaska spans 2 time zones: Alaska and Hawaii-Aleutian (western Aleutians). Most area codes are on Alaska time. Area code 907: Most of Alaska is on Alaska time; the western Aleutian Islands are one hour behind. When the checker cannot tell which zone the person is in, it shows each one and only says you can call when the call is allowed in all of them.
Alaska uses area code 907.
What else applies
Calling hours are one rule among several. Consent for autodialed and AI or prerecorded voice calls, the National Do Not Call Registry and debt collection rules apply to Alaska calls separately. Mobile numbers can move with their owner, so the area code is a best guess at location. This is not legal advice; check with counsel before you change a calling program.
To compare Alaska with other states, see TCPA calling hours by state. For how these rules apply to AI calls, read What is TCPA compliance for AI calls?
