Time zones and area codes in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is on Eastern time, so the hours above are Eastern time.

Pennsylvania has 15 area codes: 215, 223, 267, 272, 412, 445, 484, 570, 582, 610, 717, 724, 814, 835 and 878. Enter one in the checker above to see the hours for that number.

Holiday calls in Pennsylvania

No telephone solicitations on legal holidays. The checker blocks calls on federal holidays and on the state holidays in 44 P.S. 11 (Act of May 31, 1893, P.L. 188, No. 138): New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Election Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Saturday afternoon half holiday applies only in part of the state or part of the day, so on that day the checker tells you to check the holiday calendar instead of giving a plain yes. Pennsylvania also makes every Saturday after noon a legal half holiday, and the Governor or President can proclaim extra days.

What else applies

Calling hours are one rule among several. Consent for autodialed and AI or prerecorded voice calls, the National Do Not Call Registry and debt collection rules apply to Pennsylvania calls separately. Mobile numbers can move with their owner, so the area code is a best guess at location. This is not legal advice; check with counsel before you change a calling program.
